Lady Gaga Pop Phenomenon

Lady Gaga has always impressed me. When 'Poker Face' came out I didn't know how popular she was going to become, but I knew there was something about her.

To me personally she is a great inspiration. She is not your main stream version of beauty, yet she has inner beauty and is very comfortable with herself. 

She has also been an inspiration to many others, including the gay community. Her message, as I saw her state of Oprah recently, is to love yourself and be comfortable with who you are.

I like her music and she has great stage presence. I like the fact that she is kind of weird and eccentric. Maybe because I have some of that in myself, but it also makes her interesting.

Stefani Joanne Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986. Her stage name, Lady Gaga, comes from the song by the band Queen, Radio Gaga.

Her first album, The Fame, was released on August 19, 2008. The first two singles from that album, 'Just Dance' and 'Poker Face', became international number one hits, topping the Hot 100 list in the USA as well as other countries.

The album later earned six Grammy nominations and won awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording.

In 2009 she also embarked on her first head line tour called The Fame Ball Tour.

Late in 2009 she releases her second studio album called The Fame Monster, with the single 'Bad Romance', which topped the charts worldwide.

She is currently on her second headlining tour called The Monsters Ball Tour.

Lady Gaga is bisexual, and there has been rumours that she is intersexual(having both male and female genitalia), but she has dismissed these rumours as false.

She started playing piano by the ear from age 4, she wrote her first piano ballad at age 13, and started performing at age 14.

Of her high school days she said " I used to get made fun of for being either too provocative or too eccentric, so I started to tone it down. I didn't fit in, and I felt like a freak."

In January 2010 Gaga had to cancel a tour date on The Monsters Ball Tour after having trouble breathing in the lead up to the show. Paramedics later stated that she was suffering from irregular heartbeat as a result of dehydration and exhaustion.
