Make Money with Google Adsense Program
Google Adsense is one of the best ways to make money online that I know of, if not the best. When I began looking for ways to make money online I started with online marketing or MLM(Multi-Level Marketing). I tried this out for a full year, and didn't make a dime in the process. In fact I lost money.
Very few people makes money as affiliates on the internet, if any. The only people who make money with MLM are those who starts their own business. Other affiliates then join their business and does all the work for them. So unless you have a good idea for a business and have some pretty serious skills, you won't be making any money there.
Then there is also the question of integrity. In MLM no one cares about anyone else because it's the Internet. It's called a business, but how can you have a business with people you don't know? So it all comes back to the guy who starts the business. And this guy hardly ever makes true on his promises. It's all about hype and lies.
As soon as I realized this I got into writing and Google Adsense. Writing turned out to be a much more rewarding experience while at the same time I actually began making some money, however little. Making money on the Internet is not easy, at least not in the beginning. But on this page I will show you how to make real money.
You won't need anyone else to make this money because you will be working for yourself, and therefor you don't have to take any risks or depend on others' honesty and integrity.
How Does Google Adsense Work?
Google Adsense allows you to put ads that is relevant to your website's content on your website. If you don't have an account you cant go create one HERE. After you joined you should go to Adsense Setup and start creating your ads. You will have to play around with it a bit but it's not hard to figure out.
After you created an ad you will be given a code which you must enter in your website. On some websites, like here on Hubpages, you can just insert your Adsense ID which you will find inside your account on the top right. That will be all you need to do to have your ads displayed here on Hubpages, although they take 40% of your Adsense revenue for their services.
If you have your own blogs like I do, you will have to enter the code yourself and you will keep all the revenue. And that is basically how it is done. Adsense provides text ads, image ads, and ad links, and you can put a limited amount of each on your site. After you have your ads set and set up your URL channels inside your account, you can start following your earnings report inside your account.
It's almost guaranteed that you will become addicted to checking your earnings several times a day. But if you don't have much experience in writing and search engine optimization(SEO), which was the case with me in the beginning, it may take some time before you will start seeing any earnings. Once you do you will want to keep creating more content and watch your earnings increase.
The key is of course traffic. If you don't have a lot of people visiting your website you won't get a lot of clicks on ads, resulting in you not making any money. Therefor it is key to write interesting, original content. It is also very important to do keyword research. Remember Google Adsense will display ads on your site that is relevant to your content, and not all ads pay the same amount when they are clicked on.
So lets say you are doing a website on Albert Einstein for instance. Then Adsense will display ads about Albert Einstein on your website, as well as ads that are relevant to the rest of your content. To find out how much ads about Albert Einstein pays per click, you have to use the Google Keyword Tool. Just do a search for it in Google and you will see it appear right at the top. Once you add your keyword, 'Albert Einstein' in this case, in the top left box and do a search, your results will be displayed.
You should also tick the box next to 'exact' on the left. Now you will have a list of keywords and the global and local monthly searches next to it. To see the estimated average cost per click(CPC), you must go to the top right and click on 'columns'. Then tick the box next to Estimated Avg. CPC. Once you have done that it will give you the estimated amount that Adsense pays you when someone clicks on your ad.
The higher the CPC for your keyword the more you will earn, but you also have to remember that high paying keywords have more competition from competitors. To get a list of high paying keywords you can just do a search on Google for it as well. Google doesn't give a list out itself, but if you do a search you are sure to find some lists with high paying keywords ideas.
As far as the monthly searches for your keyword goes, you don't want to use a keyword that gets searched for too often, because that will make it hard for you to make the first page on the search engines. To find out how to optimize your website for the search engines you can find a free online course HERE. SEO is important, because you can have great original content, but if your website ins't optimized so it appears near the top of the search engine results, people won't be able to find you content and you won't make money.
How Much Can You Earn With Google Adsense?
As I have already stated, earning money with Google Adsense is mostly about website traffic. The more traffic you have to your sites the more people are likely to click on your ads, in which case you'll get paid. But also you want to write about topics which will result in having high paying Google Ads displayed on your site. And finally you want to do search engine optimization. Once you got those three things in place you can make a lot of money. Some are earning millions of dollars a year through Google Adsense alone. Here is a list of the highest earning publishers:
- Markus Frind: PlentyOfFish.com - $300,000 per month
- Kevin Rose: Digg.com - $250,000 per month
- Jeremy Shoemaker: $195,000 per month
- Jason Calacanis: Weblogs, Inc. - $190,000 per month
- Moe Somani: Classified Intl. - $185,000 per month
- Tim Carter: AskTheBuilder.com - $30,000 per month
- Joel Comm: $24,000 per month
- Shawn Hogan: DigitalPoint.com - $10,000 per month
It's obviously not that easy to get up there with these guys, but you have to begin somewhere and work your way up. Good luck!
